This two volume set LNCS 5768 and LNCS 5769 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks, ICANN 2009, held in Limassol, Cyprus, in September 2009. The 200 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from more than 300 submissions. The first volume is divided in topical sections on learning algorithms; computational neuroscience; hardware implementations and embedded systems; self organization; intelligent control and adaptive systems; neural and hybrid architectures; support vector machine; and recurrent neural network.
The area of communication and computer networks has become a very active field of research by the control systems community in the last years. Tools from convex optimization and control theory are playing increasing roles in efficient network utilization, fair resource allocation, and communication delay accommodation and the field of Networked Control systems is fast becoming a mainstay of control systems research and applications. This carefully edited book brings together solicited contributions from experts in the various areas of communication/control networks referring to both networks under control (control in networks) as well as networked control systems (control over networks). The aim of this book is to reverse the trend of fragmentation and specialization in Communication Control Networks connecting various interdisciplinary research fields including control, communication, applied mathematics and computer science.
The three-volume set LNCS 6675, 6676 and 6677 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Symposium on Neural Networks, ISNN 2011, held in Guilin, China, in May/June 2011. The total of 215 papers presented in all three volumes were carefully reviewed and selected from 651 submissions. The contributions are structured in topical sections on computational neuroscience and cognitive science; neurodynamics and complex systems; stability and convergence analysis; neural network models; supervised learning and unsupervised learning; kernel methods and support vector machines; mixture models and clustering; visual perception and pattern recognition; motion, tracking and object recognition; natural scene analysis and speech recognition; neuromorphic hardware, fuzzy neural networks and robotics; multi-agent systems and adaptive dynamic programming; reinforcement learning and decision making; action and motor control; adaptive and hybrid intelligent systems; neuroinformatics and bioinformatics; information retrieval; data mining and knowledge discovery; and natural language processing.
The present book includes a set of selected papers from the eighth "International Conference on Informatics in Control Automation and Robotics" (ICINCO 2011), held in Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands, from 28 to 31 July 2011. The conference was organized in four simultaneous tracks: "Intelligent Control Systems and Optimization", "Robotics and Automation", "Signal Processing, Sensors, Systems Modeling and Control" and "Industrial Engineering, Production and Management". The book is based on the same structure. ICINCO received 322 paper submissions, not including those of workshops or special sessions, from 52 countries, in all continents. After a double blind paper review performed by the Pr...
The present book includes a set of selected papers from the fourth “International Conference on Informatics in Control Automation and Robotics” (ICINCO 2007), held at the University of Angers, France, from 9 to 12 May 2007. The conference was organized in three simultaneous tracks: “Intelligent Control Systems and Optimization”, “Robotics and Automation” and “Systems Modeling, Signal Processing and Control”. The book is based on the same structure. ICINCO 2007 received 435 paper submissions, from more than 50 different countries in all continents. From these, after a blind review process, only 52 where accepted as full papers, of which 22 were selected for inclusion in this b...
The present book includes a set of selected papers from the fourth “International Conference on Informatics in Control Automation and Robotics” (ICINCO 2009), held in Milan, Italy, from 2 to 5 July 2009. The conference was organized in three simultaneous tracks: “Intelligent Control Systems and Optimization”, “Robotics and Automation” and “Systems Modeling, Signal Processing and Control”. The book is based on the same structure. ICINCO received 365 paper submissions, not including those of workshops, from 55 countries, in all continents. After a double blind paper review performed by the Program Committee only 34 submissions were accepted as full papers and thus selected for ...
The purpose of this annual series, Applied and Computational Control, Signals, and Circuits, is to keep abreast of the fast-paced developments in computational mathematics and scientific computing and their increasing use by researchers and engineers in control, signals, and circuits. The series is dedicated to fostering effective communication between mathematicians, computer scientists, computational scientists, software engineers, theorists, and practicing engineers. This interdisciplinary scope is meant to blend areas of mathematics (such as linear algebra, operator theory, and certain branches of analysis) and computational mathematics (numerical linear algebra, numerical differential e...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th IFIP WG 12.5 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Applications and Innovations, AIAI 2013, held in Paphos, Cyprus, in September/October 2013. The 26 revised full papers presented together with a keynote speech at the main event and 44 papers of 8 collocated workshops were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the volume. The papers of the main event are organized in topical sections on data mining, medical informatics and biomedical engineering, problem solving and scheduling, modeling and decision support systems, robotics, and intelligent signal and image processing.
