Most patients suffering from pancreatic diseases are managed bygeneral internists, gastroenterologists and/or surgeons innon-specialized centers. Basic and clinical research inpancreatology is continuously leading to changes in the managementof pancreatic diseases, but these advances are applied to theclinical practice almost exclusively in specialized centers byspecialized groups.
