Neurorehabilitation In Neurotrauma: Treating Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries

Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) can have long-term adverse effects on populations, including an increased risk of mortality, enduring disabilities and other long-term health problems. Both of these injuries affect large numbers of people, with between 250,000 and 500,000 people affected by a spinal cord injury every year, according to the WHO, and between 27 and 69 million people estimated to have been affected by a Traumatic Brain Injury worldwide. The effects of such injuries are far reaching and include loss of motor functions, impaired neurotransmission, neuroinflammation, apoptotic cell death (among others) and can cause persisting cognitive degradation and impairments. However, there exist a number of rehabilitative and regenerative processes and methods that help to restore motor functions and limit enduring disabilities within those affected by TBI and SCI, principally to facilitate neuroplasticity.

Intelligent Feature Selection for Machine Learning Using the Dynamic Wavelet Fingerprint

This book discusses various applications of machine learning using a new approach, the dynamic wavelet fingerprint technique, to identify features for machine learning and pattern classification in time-domain signals. Whether for medical imaging or structural health monitoring, it develops analysis techniques and measurement technologies for the quantitative characterization of materials, tissues and structures by non-invasive means. Intelligent Feature Selection for Machine Learning using the Dynamic Wavelet Fingerprint begins by providing background information on machine learning and the wavelet fingerprint technique. You Are Radically Loved

From the award-winning host of the Radically Loved podcast, an invitation to discover the healing power of who you are, body, mind, and spirit. Growing up in East L.A. in the nineties, Rosie Acosta dismissed spirituality and wellness as something people like her didn’t do. But after being arrested at age fifteen, she knew that only a radical change would lead her away from debilitating anxiety and self-doubt. As she puts it, yoga offered her a ladder and she began to climb. In this empowering and accessible guide, Acosta leads readers through the essential spiritual practices she uses to create a radically loved life. With the arc of her own journey as a framework, she presents meditations, journaling questions, and practices for identifying and honoring our own radical truths. With grit and grace, this heart-filled guide makes spiritual practice accessible to everyone and helps you become the person you are truly meant to be.
