With the Piecemaker gone, the last shred of order in Cancertown is lost. Morley visits the hospitalised Sarah Grey, whose nightmares and imaginary friends form the core of Cancertown. Reeling from the encounter, Morley finally understands what he must do to destroy Headrush. It all begins with the mysterious Shadowpuppet...
Headrush closes in on the last of the Cancertown Players, while Morley gathers his dwindling allies and prepares for the final assault. With perhaps minutes left to live and two worlds to save, Morley loses his grip for one second -- and breaks the last remaining rule he ever set himself.
The Cancertown powers are falling one by one as Morley searches frantically for a way to stop the rot. In his desperation, he turns to increasingly unlikely allies for help -- one a young woman every bit as broken as Morley himself, the other his most bitter enemy in Cancertown.
The Corpsegrinder is dead, torn apart by a monstrous newcomer to Cancertown. Worse still, this so-called Headrush has taken the Babyface -- the lost soul around whom the entire town revolves. Papercut convinces a weakening Morley to help end the crisis, even as his own time runs out.
Morley's worlds are in ruins. After the mysterious Piecemaker rescues him from Evil Twin, he introduces Morley to the Babyface - the ultimate prize the Cancertown players fight for. Morley learns that this Babyface, Bugfuck and even his own illness are all inextricably connected. His tumour is an organ grown specifically to allow him to enter and leave Cancertown at will. Bugfuck's madness runs so deep that she has created a whole new world to accommodate it, and Morley has been trapped in her nightmares from the beginning...With commentary from Cy Dethan and Stephen Downey.
A simple search-and-rescue mission degenerates into a three-way stand-off as the demented Crosshair tries to trick the Corpsegrinder into killing Daniel Grey. Grey wears Crosshair's mark, and attacking the property of another Cancertown player brings grave consequences. Calling in a favour from the Corpsegrinder, Morley flees to the real world, only to discover that Grey has not only escaped himself, but also seems to be tied to Bugfuck somehow. Questioning Bugfuck only succeeds in enraging Grey, who launches a savage attack...With commentary from writer Cy Dethan and artist Stephen Downey.
Vince Morley lives on a knife-edge between reality and a corrupted, monstrous reflection he calls Cancertown, believing an inoperable brain tumour allows him to move between the two. Assisted by the scarred and homeless Bugfuck, Morley fights to save others from falling into Cancertown. Searching for a missing person named Daniel Grey, Morley is attacked by an escaped Cancertown resident called a Badmouth. When Morley discards the marker that the Badmouth has been using to track him, the creature chooses an alternate victim, dragging him into Cancertown. Morley has no choice but to follow...Now with commentary from writer Cy Dethan and artist Stephen Downey.
