Relational and Algebraic Methods in Computer Science
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Relational and Algebraic Methods in Computer Science, RAMiCS 13, held in Cambridge, UK, in September 2012. The 23 revised full papers presented were carefully selected from 39 submissions in the general area of relational and algebraic methods in computer science, adding special focus on formal methods for software engineering, logics of programs and links with neighboring disciplines. Annotation The two-volume set LNCS 6198 and LNCS 6199 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 37th International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming, ICALP 2010, held in Bordeaux, France, in July 2010. The 106 revised full papers (60 papers for track A, 30 for track B, and 16 for track C) presented together with 6 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 389 submissions. The papers are grouped in three major tracks on algorithms, complexity and games; on logic, semantics, automata, and theory of programming; as well as on foundations of networked computation: models, algorithms and information management. LNCS 6198 contains 60 contributions of track A selected from 222 submissions as well as 2 invited talks.

Advanced Topics in Bisimulation and Coinduction
Coinduction is a method for specifying and reasoning about infinite data types and automata with infinite behaviour. In recent years, it has come to play an ever more important role in the theory of computing. It is studied in many disciplines, including process theory and concurrency, modal logic and automata theory. Typically, coinductive proofs demonstrate the equivalence of two objects by constructing a suitable bisimulation relation between them. This collection of surveys is aimed at both researchers and Master's students in computer science and mathematics and deals with various aspects of bisimulation and coinduction, with an emphasis on process theory. Seven chapters cover the following topics: history, algebra and coalgebra, algorithmics, logic, higher-order languages, enhancements of the bisimulation proof method, and probabilities. Exercises are also included to help the reader master new material.
