Women, Business and the Law 2021
Women, Business and the Law 2021 is the seventh in a series of annual studies measuring the laws and regulations that affect women’s economic opportunity in 190 economies. The project presents eight indicators structured around women’s interactions with the law as they move through their lives and careers: Mobility, Workplace, Pay, Marriage, Parenthood, Entrepreneurship, Assets, and Pension. This year’s report updates all indicators as of October 1, 2020 and builds evidence of the links between legal gender equality and women’s economic inclusion. By examining the economic decisions women make throughout their working lives, as well as the pace of reform over the past 50 years, Women, Business and the Law 2021 makes an important contribution to research and policy discussions about the state of women’s economic empowerment. Prepared during a global pandemic that threatens progress toward gender equality, this edition also includes important findings on government responses to COVID-19 and pilot research related to childcare and women’s access to justice.
Saúde dos alunos do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS) – campus Rio Grande
Neste livro, apresentamos os resultados obtidos em quatro estudos realizados no IFRS – campus Rio Grande. Esses estudos deram origem a uma série de trabalhos. Foram objetos de dissertações de mestrado e de teses de doutorado. Alguns encontram-se publicados em periódicos nacionais ou internacionais, outros foram apresentados em eventos locais ou regionais. Ao todo, produzimos mais de 20 artigos científicos, e outros ainda estão por vir. Porém, sabemos que o público que lê esses artigos é muito restrito. Logo, resolvemos elaborar este livro, para que tais resultados cheguem a um público mais amplo. Procuramos sumarizar os principais achados, usando uma linguagem acessível, com bastantes ilustrações, para facilitar o entendimento dos capítulos. Essa é uma forma de dar um retorno a toda a comunidade do IFRS – campus Rio Grande, sejam os próprios alunos, ou seus pais/responsáveis, ou os professores e a direção. Esperamos que o livro seja lido também por pessoas que tenham filhos ou alunos na faixa etária de 15 a 18 anos, assim como por aqueles que tenham interesse por questões de saúde em jovens. Deep Learning and Data Labeling for Medical Applications
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of two workshops held at the 19th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2016, in Athens, Greece, in October 2016: the First Workshop on Large-Scale Annotation of Biomedical Data and Expert Label Synthesis, LABELS 2016, and the Second International Workshop on Deep Learning in Medical Image Analysis, DLMIA 2016. The 28 revised regular papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 52 submissions. The 7 papers selected for LABELS deal with topics from the following fields: crowd-sourcing methods; active learning; transfer learning; semi-supervised learning; and modeling of label uncertainty.The 21 papers selected for DLMIA span a wide range of topics such as image description; medical imaging-based diagnosis; medical signal-based diagnosis; medical image reconstruction and model selection using deep learning techniques; meta-heuristic techniques for fine-tuning parameter in deep learning-based architectures; and applications based on deep learning techniques.
