Human Centered Computing
This book constitutes thoroughly reviewed, revised and selected papers from the 5th International Conference on Human Centered Computing, HCC 2019, held in Čačak, Serbia, in August 2019. Open Education: from OERs to MOOCs
This book focuses on the emerging phenomenon of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), which are changing the fundamental underpinning of educational systems worldwide and forcing educators and other stakeholders to re-think the way instruction is currently conducted. It examines the origins of MOOCs within the context of the open education movement, and reviews current policies, guidelines and initiatives to promote the use of ICT in education through the development and use of open educational resources from international practices, including implementation and licensing issues. Current State of Open Educational Resources in the “Belt and Road” Countries
This book presents the current state of Open Educational Resources (OER) within the countries covered by the China's Belt and Road Initiative. Personalized Human-Computer Interaction
Personalized and adaptive systems employ user models to adapt content, services, interaction or navigation to individual users’ needs. User models can be inferred from implicitly observed information, such as the user’s interaction history or current location, or from explicitly entered information, such as user profile data or ratings. Applications of personalization include item recommendation, location-based services, learning assistance and the tailored selection of interaction modalities. With the transition from desktop computers to mobile devices and ubiquitous environments, the need for adapting to changing contexts is even more important. However, this also poses new challenges concerning privacy issues, user control, transparency, and explainability.
