The book provides a history of the outstanding alumni of Dartmouth College since it's founding in 1769 with special emphasis on the recipients of the college's prestigious Alumni Award from 1954 to 2004, including some 420 alumni from the Classes of 1894 to 1977. These high achieving alumni include lawyers, poets, politicians, educators, businessmen and other outstanding leaders of the United States and the world. The book also includes a brief history of Dartmouth College since the early days of Eleazar Wheelock's educational efforts in the mid-18th Century, it's founding in 1769 as the 7th and last Royal College, and thru to the highly regarded College of 2004. Over 200 images of historical events and alumni activity have been included to illustrate the very personal side of this great instituion.
