The #1 bestseller in New Testament Commentaries. Over 400,000 copies sold! This is the official companion study to season 1 of The Chosen, the groundbreaking television series about the life of Jesus. What Does It Mean to Be Chosen? parallels each episode, connecting readers to the Bible in a brand-new way. It includes: A deeper look at Isaiah 43 and its fulfillment in Jesus and the lives of His followers (including us!) Script excerpts, quotes, and illustrations from the show Guiding questions for groups or individuals Being chosen by Jesus has beautiful and far-reaching implications—although it says even more about the Chooser than the choosees. We are loved because He is love. We are saved because He is merciful. We belong to the family of God because Jesus invites us, making the Bible and all its promises as true for us today as it was for God’s chosen people. What does it actually mean to be Chosen? To answer that question, we’re going Old school—Testament that is—which leads us back to the New. Which always leads us directly to Jesus.

New York Times-bestselling author Francis Chan calls for believers and churches everywhere to align our hearts with God and start taking seriously His commands to unify. It’s clear from Scripture that God desires unity for His Church. If unity is so important to the heart of God, why is the Church one of the most divided groups on earth? Chan argues that the problem is the shallowness of our love for each other—rooted in a shallowness in our understanding of the gospel. Until Unity shows us: God grieves the division in the Church, so we can’t remain indifferent Unity demands a level of humility only possible by the Spirit The power and witness of the Church hinges on our oneness Unity comes at a cost, but it commands a blessing We must come together as a Christ’s Bride. God desires His people to love one another radically and become the Church He has called us to be. For further individual or small-group study, check out Until Unity Study Guide, an eight-session interactive workbook that serves as a companion to Until Unity, along with a free online video series.

The Wainthropp Detective Agency is bustling. No longer the new kid on the crime-fighting block, late-blooming gumshoe Hetty Wainthropp (Patricia Routledge, Keeping Up Appearances) gets the really tough jobs that require a head and a heart. Her uncanny ability to blend in with her surroundings brings her into contact with people from all walks of life, from marauding holigans to high society brides. Even Detective Chief Inspector Adams relies on her for sensitive cases that require her special blend of tenacity and kindness. Hetty is flattered, but clearly states her limits: "No sex scandals, no divorce, no drug running, and no industrial espionage." Still, she finds plenty of excitement in these nine new cases solved with the help of her trusty young assistant, Geoffrey (Dominic Monaghan, ABC's Lost), and devoted hubby, Robert (Derek Benfield)
In early 1970's Bruce L. Cook, eldest son of David C. III, was given 16 typewritten pages by Earl Heindel. It was explained that he had acted as informal historian for the company and wanted his history to be given to a family member so it would not be lost. Now that Earl is gone and the main offices of the company have moved away from Elgin, Bruce wanted to make this history (and a few images) available to the many former employees and their families who retired and/or remained in Elgin. The text is supplemented with an index (including many employee names) and photos. Many current and former employees will enjoy Earl's treasure trove of memories.
