Jan (John) Emans Sr. (d.1715) probably emigrated from The Netherlands to Gravesend, Kings County, Long Island, New York during or before 1645 and married twice. Descendants (most spelling the surname Emmons, some spelling it Emmans, Emans, etc.) lived in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Texas and elsewhere.
