After nine years as a Navy SEAL, Lieutenant Michael Stone suffers a minor injury which halts his career in the prime of life. A few weeks later, a mysterious billionaire convinces Mike that his country needs his skills once again, only this time there will be no bothersome rules of engagement or political interference. Mike Stone and his mentor, recently retired Navy SEAL Ben Travis, are sent on a fast paced adventure across the country and halfway around the world. Their mission is to stop a brutal group of terrorists from annihilating two major American cities with stolen nuclear weapons.
Bill Hardin is an ordinary American patriot who has been pushed too far. He is one of millions of angry white males living in the United States today who has grown tired of watching the country he loves being destroyed from within by those who were elected to defend and protect it. Bill refuses to be dictated to any longer by elitists who seek to control his life, while they exploit the nation's taxpayers to enrich themselves and increase their personal power. He is weary of a failing and incompetent government; and with watching American freedom slowly slipping away. Bitter and outraged by the direction the country he loves is heading, Hardin is taking matters into his own hands. Using skills he learned as a Marine, and the cover of his big rig, Bill is determined to eliminate as many of America's domestic enemies as possible. His one-man crusade against those who would use their positions of trust to tear the very fabric of America apart is about to send a powerful message designed to strike fear in the heart of the political establishment.

Pain is the most common physical complaint while depression is the second most debilitating chronic medical condition. The co-occurrence of pain and depression is well known but a detailed understanding of their phenomenology, interrelationship, and effective therapies remains speculative. This book provides a synthetic approach to the evaluation and treatment of patients with chronic pain and depression that will generate therapeutic optimism and lead clinicians to improve quality of life and restore function. The recognition that depression is not just an affective disorder or demoralization is discussed in detail in the contributions: Function, Disability, and Psychological Well-Being and in Structural Models of Comorbidity among Common Mental Disorders: Connections to Chronic Pain. Other articles review the complex regional pain syndrome and the Gulf War syndrome. Further papers discuss issues relating to the use of opioids in the treatment of chronic pain. This book will doubtlessly prove to be essential reading for researchers investigating chronic nonmalignant pain as well as physicians dealing with patients suffering from chronic pain.
