The exhibition-curated by Christian Helbock und Dietmar Schwärzler-aims to help make artist groups and their different collaborative models and forms of social bonding and solidarity be productive, as well as to tell stories of constructive failure. The exhibition sees itself as an experimental field for observing and comparing collectives, artist groups, and even temporary collaborations in a differentiated and engaging way. The publication, which is not intended as an exhibition catalogue, accompanies the show. It collects and presents discursive texts on the topic, additional material, further contributions by artists, and accompanying interviews. The publication is an independent, discursive collection of material and provides in-depth information on various forms of collaboration, individual groups or artistic practices for an interested audience.

Experimental Film and Photochemical Practices
This book assesses the contemporary status of photochemical film practice against a backdrop of technological transition and obsolescence. It argues for the continued relevance of material engagement for opening up alternative ways of seeing and sensing the world. Questioning narratives of replacement and notions of fetishism and nostalgia, the book sketches out the contours of a photochemical renaissance driven by collective passion, creative resistance and artistic reinvention. Friedl Kubelka Vom Gröller
This publication offers a retrospective of the work of photographer and filmmaker Friedl Kubelka (born 1946)--known as a filmmaker under the name of Friedl vom Gröller. It gathers her portraits of filmmaker friends and family, film stills and a selection of her fashion photographs. In 1972 she began her epic project Year's Portraits, for which she photographed herself daily over a period of one year--a process that has been repeated every five years since. Among the artist's portrait subjects are Franz West, Walter Pichler and Peter Kubelka (her husband), as well as central protagonists of the American Independent Cinema such as Jack Smith, Bruce Conner, Hollis Frampton, Kenneth Anger, Jonas Mekas, George and Mike Kuchar, and many more. Most of the images gathered together here are published for the first time in book form. The book also includes a DVD with a selection of vom Gröller's 16 mm films.
Friedl Kubelka Vom Gröller: One Is Not Enough
The heart of filmmaker Friedl vom Gröller is constituted by portraiture ? whether she captures friends, acquaintances, family members, filmmakers, artists or simply clients, each for the most part gazing directly into the camera. Since 1972 to the present, Kubelka has also placed herself in front of the camera for her project 'Jahresportraits' (Yearly Portraits) in which she mercilessly documents the process of aging. It has become the structural credo of Kubelka?s artistic practice to juxtapose the individual photograph with many other photographs.0The monograph focuses upon individual serial works as combined with contemporary portrait series showing e.g. artists from Senegal which are combined with others from Kubelka?s archive. So as to multiply perspectives, individual portraits are juxtaposed with others (double portraits), or more. As extras a journal about the mural painter Pape Mamadou Samb aka Papisto Boy and a DVD with a selection of films of the artist are attached to the book.
The Art of Resistance
Well before the far-right resurgence that has most recently transformed European politics, Austria’s 1999 parliamentary elections surprised the world with the unexpected success of the Freedom Party of Austria and its charismatic leader, Jörg Haider. The party’s perceived xenophobia, isolationism, and unabashed nationalism in turn inspired a massive protest movement that expressed opposition not only through street protests but also in novels, plays, films, and music.
