The comparison between methods, evaluation of portal hypertension and many other questions are still open issues in liver elastography. New elastographic applications are under evaluation and close to being used in clinical practice. Strain imaging has been incorporated into many disciplines and EFSUMB guidelines are under preparation. More research is necessary for improved evidence for clinical applications in daily practice. The Special Issue published papers on recent advances in development and application of Ultrasound Elastography.
With the aid of an extensive series of high-quality images, this atlas describes all the potential applications of elastosonography in routine clinical practice. After a brief introduction on technical and physical aspects, the diagnostic benefits of elastosonography in a range of settings are illustrated with the aid of numerous representative cases. The coverage encompasses pathologies of the liver, spleen, pancreas, kidney, breast, thyroid, testis, musculoskeletal system, and vascular system. In addition, helpful correlations with imaging appearances on ultrasound and computed tomography are included. Elastosonography is a powerful, relatively new diagnostic technique that assesses the elasticity of tissues as an indicator of malignancy. Readers will find this book to be an excellent aid to use and interpretation of the technique.
This volume in the series reflects the rapid advances that have occurred in the use of ultrasound in the investigation of gastroenterology diseases.
The two-volume set LNCS 4190 and LNCS 4191 constitute the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2006. The program committee carefully selected 39 revised full papers and 193 revised poster papers for presentation in two volumes. This first volume includes 114 contributions related to bone shape analysis, robotics and tracking, segmentation, analysis of diffusion tensor MRI, and much more.
Annotation The two-volume set LNCS 5241 and LNCS 5242 constitute the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2008, held in New York, NY, USA, in September 2008.The program committee carefully selected 258 revised papers from numerous submissions for presentation in two volumes, based on rigorous peer reviews. The first volume includes 127 papers related to medical image computing, segmentation, shape and statistics analysis, modeling, motion tracking and compensation, as well as registration. The second volume contains 131 contributions related to robotics and interventions, statistical analysis, segmentation, intervention, modeling, and registration.
This title is part of a two-volume set that constitute the refereed proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2007. Coverage in this first volume includes diffusion tensor imaging and computing, cardiac imaging and robotics, image segmentation and classification, image guided intervention and robotics, innovative clinical and biological applications, brain atlas computing, and simulation of therapy.
This book offers a detailed and up-to-date overview of image-guided diagnostics in COVID-19 lung disease. A range of image-guided CT and ultrasound procedures in different chest regions are described. For each procedure, the benefits of image guidance are presented and its specialized application explained in the adult (outpatient, triage and hospital setting) and the pediatric patient. Lung Ultrasound Image Guidance assesses this rapidly evolving disease in real time while CT scans may be precisely targeted. The editor provides his 50+ year experience of multidisciplinary chest imaging including battlefield experience to optimally combat this recent viral assault. Image-Guided Management wi...
The 11th International Conference on Medical Imaging and Computer Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2008, was held at the Helen and Martin Kimmel Center of New York University, New York City, USA on September 6–10, 2008. MICCAI is the premier international conference in this domain, with - depth papers on the multidisciplinary ?elds of biomedical image computing and analysis, computer assisted intervention and medical robotics. The conference brings together biological scientists, clinicians, computer scientists, engineers, mathematicians, physicists and other interested researchers and o?ers them a forum to exchange ideas in these exciting and rapidly growing ?elds. The conference is both ver...
An interdisciplinary guide to color duplex sonography organized by anatomic region The indications for vascular color duplex sonography (CDS) have expanded in recent years due to the availability of power Doppler, B-flow, ultrasound contrast agents, 3D reconstruction techniques and fusion with other imaging modalities. CDS enables close-interval follow-ups after interventional procedures with improved prognoses. Edited by Reinhard Kubale, Hubert Stiegler, and Hans-Peter Weskott, Vascular Color Duplex Ultrasound starts with the basic principles of diagnostic ultrasound physics and technology, followed by invaluable tips on equipment settings, possible artifacts, and limitations; hemodynamic e...
