Pesantren telah berhasil mempertahankan warna kemoderatannya, yakni sikap mengambil jalan tengah dalam segala dimensi kehidupan keberagaman yang sangat selaras dengan watak dan karakteristik umat Islam di Nusantara, yang fleksibel, toleran, dan terbuka dalam menerima dan menyikapi segala perbedaan tradisi, pandangan serta keyakinan namun demikian untuk dapat menyatukan segala aspek perbedaan tersebut perlunya komunikasi dalam pesantren disegala aspek dan unsur.
