Planning for Resilience
Given the increasing uncertainty due to catastrophic climate events, terrorist attacks, and economic crises, this book addresses planning for resilience by focusing on sharing knowledge among policy-makers, urban planners, emergency teams and citizens. Chapters look at the nature of contemporary risks, the widespread of resilience thinking and the gap between the theoretical conception and the practices. The book explores how resilience implies a change in planning practices, highlighting the need for flexibility in terms of procedures, and for dynamism in the knowledge systems and learning processes that are the main tools for interaction among different actors and scales. Urban Resilience for Risk and Adaptation Governance
This book brings together a series of theory and practice essays on risk management and adaptation in urban contexts within a resilient and multidimensional perspective. The book proposes a transversal approach with regard to the role of spatial planning in promoting and fostering risk management as well as institutions’ challenges for governing risk, particularly in relation to new forms of multi-level governance that may include stakeholders and citizen engagement. The different contributions focus on approaches, policies, and practices able to contrast risks in urban systems generating social inclusion, equity and participation through bottom-up governance forms and co-evolution principles. Case studies focus on lessons learned, as well as the potential and means for their replication and upscaling, also through capacity building and knowledge transfer. Doenças Contemporâneas Relacionadas à Alimentação: Contribuições da Psicanálise
Em que ponto o comer saudável e o praticar atividade física de forma sadia são quebrados? Os profissionais de saúde têm condições de identificar isso no consultório? Poderíamos dizer que os transtornos alimentares são, em sua maioria, um retorno às histéricas de Freud? Doenças contemporâneas relacionadas à alimentação propõe, por meio de um diálogo com a psicanálise, ajudar a responder essas e outras indagações. Partindo da minha prática clínica em nutrição, em que percebo uma grande insatisfação dos sujeitos contemporâneos com seu corpo, e de comportamentos alimentares incorretos que geram transtornos alimentares, surgiram as indagações sobre as causas que contribuem para esse mal-estar e os caminhos que podemos traçar na clínica para um alerta mais precoce ao desenvolvimento de tais transtornos. Para isso, recorro a autores referência nas áreas, aos conceitos freudianos de pulsão e transferência e à leitura de Jaques Lacan. Tudo isso com a intenção de provocar reflexões sobre as possibilidades de direção clínica de profissionais de saúde com as contribuições da psicanálise.
International Review of Biblical Studies, Volume 52 (2005-2006)
Formerly known by its subtitle “Internationale Zeitschriftenschau für Bibelwissenschaft und Grenzgebiete”, the International Review of Biblical Studies has served the scholarly community ever since its inception in the early 1950’s. Each annual volume includes approximately 2,000 abstracts and summaries of articles and books that deal with the Bible and related literature, including the Dead Sea Scrolls, Pseudepigrapha, Non-canonical gospels, and ancient Near Eastern writings. The abstracts – which may be in English, German, or French - are arranged thematically under headings such as e.g. “Genesis”, “Matthew”, “Greek language”, “text and textual criticism”, “exegetical methods and approaches”, “biblical theology”, “social and religious institutions”, “biblical personalities”, “history of Israel and early Judaism”, and so on. The articles and books that are abstracted and reviewed are collected annually by an international team of collaborators from over 300 of the most important periodicals and book series in the fields covered.

It is rather a coherent work with a common history of formation and, based upon this, with an overall message and intention. The individual books of the Book of the Twelve are thus part of a larger whole in which they can be interpreted in a fruitful manner. The volume The Book of the Twelve: Composition, Reception, and Interpretation features 30 articles, written by renowned scholars, that explore different aspects regarding the formation, interpretation, and reception of the Book of the Twelve as a literary unity.
