Joining the Prison Service and working in a high-security prison can be an eye-opener. One who does so experiences corruption, victimization, discrimination, bullying, and harassment-and that's from the prison staff.Elizabeth Benjamin tells it as it is and exposes what truly goes on behind the walls of our prisons. After joining the Prison Service, Elizabeth encountered bullying, harassment, discrimination, and victimization from fellow officers. She witnessed many inmates and other members of staff encounter the same. Elizabeth spent her four and a half years being bullied and intimidated by prison staff. She endred being locked in a dark room, being set up by management, being purposely almost knocked down by a Catagory A wagon, and being penalized when her two brothers were remanded in custody after having been wrongly accused of committing a crime.Elizabeth tells her story of what actually does go on behind the prison walls. She exposes the secrets, cover-ups, and corruption within the prison system, maybe causing controversy in the world of the Prison Service.

Invisible Friends

Browning and Haydon never met, but their lively conversation, initiated in 1842, continued unabated until 1845, about a year before the painter's suicide. It was a lopsided correspondence in which 94 letters written by Haydon, most of which have not been published before, received fewer replies from Barrett, 28 of which are included here.

Offering new critical approaches to Dada as quintessential part of the Avant-Garde, Dada and Existentialism: the Authenticity of Ambiguity reassesses the movement as a form of (proto-) Existentialist philosophy. Dada is often dismissed as an anti-art movement with a merely destructive theoretical impetus. French Existentialism is often condemned for its perceived quietist implications. However, closer analysis reveals a preoccupation with philosophy in the former and with art in the latter. Moreover, neither was nonsensical or meaningless; both reveal a rich individualist ethics aimed at the amelioration of the individual and society. The first major comparative study of Dada and Existentialism, this text contributes new perspectives on Dada as movement, historical legacy, and field of study. Analysing Dada works through Existentialist literature across the themes of choice, alienation, responsibility, freedom and truth, the text posits that Dada and Existentialism both advocate the creation of a self that aims for authenticity through ambiguity.
