Make it Your Own

The authors show that you don't have to be a pattern maker to create one-of-a-kind designs. They show how to start with a basic pattern and add designer details, such as lacy overlays, custom collars, novelty necklines, and more. The book explains the design process, and inspiring fashion illustrations and short exercises spark individual creativity. Express your personality through clothing you have "made your own".

But in a blinding snowstorm he's injured—and collapses into the arms of a prim and proper lady in calico. The shirtless, bandaged stranger recuperating in teacher Piper St. James's room behind the schoolhouse says he's a McKettrick, but he looks like an outlaw. Chilton County

"Located in the geographic center of the state, Chilton County is the Peach Capital of Alabama. The mild climate and gently sloping terrain of central Alabama provide an ideal environment for cultivation of the region's principal agricultural export and Alabama's leading commercial fruit. This distinctive setting has influenced the heritage and historical legacy of the county and its people for more than 100 years. From the big peach water tower that welcomes visitors to Chilton County to the annual peach festival celebration and the crowning of the Peach Queen, this iconic fruit has become symbolic of a way of life for residents of the Chilton County communities of Clanton, Jemison, Maplesville, Thorsby, and Verbena. In celebration of the 150th anniversary of this remarkable county, Images of America: Chilton County is the story of the people and places that are the heart of Alabama. A resident of Clanton, Billy J. Singleton has written extensively on the history of Chilton County and the state of Alabama, is a member of the Alabama Historical Association, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Alabama Department of Archives and History." --

John Thompson and landed in Philadelphia. They brought with them several of their children. It is assumed that their wives died sometime prior to their immigration to America. Descendants of these two brothers lived primarily in the state of Pennsylvania and elsewhere.

A New Serge in Wearable Art

Garment sewing is no longer a way to save money. It has evolved into a rewarding, creative use of spare time. Some sewers get up early to sew for a couple of hours; others sew into the late-night talk-show battles. Actually, one of the most successful classes offered in quilt and sewing shops is the all-nighter. Sewing enthusiasts love taking these classes and workshops to get away from stresses at home and work-and to hone their sewing and surging skills to boot. Some just like to join other sewers for a sewathon.
