Violenza e catarsi
Si dice che scene mediatiche di violenza abbiano effetti catartici, ma qual è il significato del concetto di “katharsis”? E quale teoria dell’inconscio ha reso questo concetto così popolare che dall’antichità arriva all’era digitale? In questa genealogia sulla violenza e l’inconscio, Nidesh Lawtoo riformula i dibattiti attuali sulla violenza mediatica ripercorrendo le vicissitudini filosofiche, estetiche e psicologiche sulla catarsi da Aristotele a Girard, in compagnia di Nietzsche, Bernays, Freud e Morin, tra gli altri, con un doppio obbiettivo: da una parte Lawtoo racconta la nascita dell’inconscio edipico – a partire da un “metodo catartico”–; e dall’altra delinea una nuova teoria del rapporto tra violenza e inconscio che non ha il desiderio come via regia ma, piuttosto, l’osservazione inattuale che tutti gli affetti si diffondono in modo contagioso e affascinano l’homo mimeticus.

Nella tradizione iniziata con il numero 100 (ottobre 2012) e proseguita con il numero 150 (ottobre 2017), abbiamo invitato tutti gli autori che hanno collaborato, dal 2000 a oggi, a scrivere un pezzo sul tema “Festa!”.
