Sie ist damit die derzeit einzige laufende Bibliographie dieser Art, die thematisch, zeitlich und geographisch ein derart breites Spektrum abdeckt. Innerhalb der systematischen Gliederung nach Zeitalter, Region oder historischer Disziplin sind die Werke nach Autorennamen oder charakteristischem Titelhauptwort aufgelistet.
Supplikationswesen und Petitionsrecht im Wandel der Zeit und im Spiegel der Publikationen der Historischen Kommission
Suppliken bezeichnen formalisierte Bitten an eine Obrigkeit, deren Bandbreite von privaten Gesuchen bis hin zu politischen Forderungen reicht. Die Untersuchung von Bittschriften und Petitionen liefert Erkenntnisse über die wechselnden Beziehungen zwischen Obrigkeiten und Individuen mit Blick auf gesellschaftliche Teilhabe und politische Partizipation. Die Beiträge des Bandes beschäftigen sich über eine Zeitspanne vom Spätmittelalter bis zum Bonner Grundgesetz mit Eingaben, Gesuchen und Beschwerden. Sie zeigen den Wandel der »Kultur der Bitte« auf und stellen die Bedeutung des Supplikenwesens als Kommunikationskanal heraus, über den die Obrigkeiten ebenso Einblicke in die Befindlichkeiten der Untertanen gewinnen konnten wie die Untertanen in Kontakt mit der Obrigkeit traten.
