Para responder a las demandas cambiantes de la sociedad se requiere incorporar una serie de atributos, los cuales se definen como "nociones que expresan conocimientos, habilidades y actitudes que consideran los mínimos necesarios de cada campo disciplinar y garantizan que los graduados están en capacidad de desempeñarse de manera eficaz en diferentes contextos y situaciones, y les permiten comprender el mundo e influir en él". Por lo tanto, esta guía metodológica se presenta con la finalidad de describir la implementación de los atributos en el proceso formativo de los ingenieros. El documento incluye cuatro etapas del proceso: descripción de atributos por nivel, mapeo de atributos de los planes de estudio, diseño del plan de evaluación, y acciones de mejora. El objetivo de la obra es que el profesorado y el personal involucrado en procesos de autoevaluación y acreditación dispongan de recursos, referencias y ejemplos para evaluar los atributos en sus graduados.
