New Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence
This book constitutes extended, revised, and selected papers from the 12th International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence supported by the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence, JSAI-isAI 2020. Organized in the Tokyo Institute of Technology, it was held virtually due to COVID-19 pandemic. The 19 full papers were carefully selected from 50 submissions and present two workshops: Logic and Engineering of Natural Language Semantics (LENLS 2020) focus on the formal and theoretical aspects of natural language. It is an annual International Workshop recognized internationally in the formal syntax-semantics-pragmatics community. The 14th International Workshop on Juris-informatics (JURISIN 2020) details legal issues for the perspective of information science. This workshop covers a wide range of topics, including any theories and technologies which are not directly related with juris-informatics but have a potential to contribute to this domain.
Deconstructing Language Structure and Meaning
This volume brings together a number of researchers working on generative syntax and semantics, language acquisition and phonology to explore various theoretical frameworks, ranging from generative grammar and formal semantics to more descriptive approaches. The contributions gathered here investigate various aspects in the syntax, semantics, phonology and acquisition of Romanian in comparison with other (mainly Romance) languages. The book will be of interest to linguists who are keen on keeping up with the latest advances in the field of Romance studies, as well as those whose research bears on languages such as Hungarian, German, and Maltese, among others.

Indefinites Between Latin and Romance
This book investigates the syntactic and semantic development of a selection of indefinite pronouns and determiners between Latin and the Romance languages. Negative Concord: A Hundred Years On
The concept of ‘negative concord’ refers to the seemingly multiple exponence of semantically single negation as in You ain’t seen nothing yet. This book takes stock of what has been achieved since the notion was introduced in 1922 by Otto Jespersen and sets the agenda for future research, with an eye towards increased cross-fertilization between theoretical perspectives and methodological tools. Major issues include (i) How can formal and typological approaches complement each other in uncovering and accounting for cross-linguistic variation? (ii) How can corpus work steer theoretical analyses? (iii) What is the contribution of diachronic research to the theoretical debates?

The Oxford Handbook of Information Structure
This book provides linguists with a clear, critical, and comprehensive overview of theoretical and experimental work on information structure. Leading researchers survey the main theories of information structure in syntax, phonology, and semantics as well as perspectives from psycholinguistics and other relevant fields. Following the editors' introduction the book is divided into four parts. The first, on theories of and theoretical perspectives on information structure, includes chapters on topic, prosody, and implicature.
