Adolescence Mental Health in School and University

A school, whether run by the government or a private institution, is established to prepare adolescents for adulthood. In some regions, some religious societies have established a comprehensive educational institution supported by their religious competencies requirement in their curriculum, along with the national curriculum. Adolescence is a period of life that ranges from 10 to 19 years old and expands from school to the early phase of university. Adolescents are considered highly susceptible to mental health issues. Anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and suicidal attempts have been shown to increase before the age of 24. There is a myriad of factors that can contribute to the development of mental health disorders in this context, including family, parenting style, and bullying from peers/teachers. Failing to address contributing factors may hinder adolescents from fulfilling and sustaining healthy and productive adult lives.

For each transition, dedicated chapters examine evolutionary pressures, responses in changes in human emotional capacities and the archaeological evidence for human social behaviours. Starting from our earliest origins, in Part One, Professor Spikins explores how after two million years ago, movement of human ancestors into a new ecological niche drove new types of...

This book is about journeying on the path of self-leadership. Free enterprise offers us a vehicle to operate in a more efficient manner together by empowering all representatives of an organization. But can we hope to transform our organizations into environments that demonstrate the values of collaboration and joy if we are not also willing to transform ourselves? What if accepting the responsibility of our sovereignty led us to fundamentally question our way of being and the choices were making every day both individually and collectively? Where is the support for transitioning to these newer collectives where interdependency is key? Developing vibrant self-leadership means empowering ours...
