Muitas são as nações que produzem a tragédia dos refugiados, sendo a Venezuela apenas um dos exemplos no momento da delimitação do tema e pela condição de vizinho do Brasil. Entretanto, trata-se de uma questão universal, não se limitando a um grupo de países. É preciso atentar para o fato de que qualquer indivíduo pode estar na condição do que se desloca forçadamente ou como cidadão do Estado que acolhe. No livro traçaremos um panorama do ambiente venezuelano, das políticas de acolhimento em seis países da América do Sul mais atingidos pelo fluxo de refugiados, da atuação de organismos internacionais e apresentaremos para o debate propostas de mecanismos supranacionais de solução das crises de direitos humanos.

Are we done yet? Response fatigue and rural livelihoods
Accurate understanding of peoples’ livelihoods activities is needed to inform effective policy. Existing evidence relies heavily on studies that use designated respondents to provide information about their household members, imposing significant costs on these respondents along with possible distortions in the data. In rural Ghana, we randomize the order that household members are asked about and estimate that response fatigue leads to undercounting of labor activities by 8% on average. Women are twice as impacted as men while youth are four times as impacted as older adults, distorting both within-household and population wide comparisons. These biases result from women and youth being listed systematically later in rosters and stronger effects of fatigue for them, conditional on roster position. The implications of our results extend to other topics of enquiry as well, wherever similar repetitive survey structures are deployed, such as birth records, plot-level inputs, and household consumption and expenditures.
Inflation Anchoring and Growth: Evidence from Sectoral Data
Central bankers often assert that low inflation and anchoring of inflation expectations are good for economic growth (Bernanke 2007, Plosser 2007). We test this claim using panel data on sectoral growth for 22 manufacturing industries for 36 advanced and emerging market economies over the period 1990-2014. Inflation anchoring in each country is measured as the response of inflation expectations to inflation surprises (Levin et al., 2004). We find that credit constrained industries—those characterized by high external financial dependence and R&D intensity and low asset tangibility—tend to grow faster in countries with well-anchored inflation expectations.
