Forest Drainage Manual
Systematic drainage of forest peatland can be a catalyst for stimulating black spruce and perhaps other vegetation to grow faster. This manual is designed to be a practical guide to field personnel in systematic peatland drainage for Ontario conditions, so that drainage projects can be initiated at the management unit level. Much of the material in the manual is based on Finnish experience which has been adapted for the boreal forest by Canadian foresters.
