LE MASCHERE DI DIONISO Figure del corpo tra arti visive, media e tecnologia
Oggetto centrale e privilegiato della storia dell’arte tradizionale, la figura umana ha subito, in particolar modo negli ultimi quarant’anni, una modificazione iconica e culturale riconfigurandosi attraverso la relazione corpo-schermo, che ne ridefinisce teorie e pratiche espressive acquisite dal sistema dei media e delle arti contemporanee. Il volume si propone di analizzare le relazioni prevalenti fra figura umana e statuaria, tracciando una mappatura iconografica delle più recenti e significative raffigurazioni del corpo nell’ambito della sperimentazione artistica: dal cinema underground e d’artista alla fotografia, dalla scultura alla performance, alla videoarte. Utilizzando una metodologia versatile che coniuga gli studi visuali e culturali con le teorie dei media e delle arti plastiche, si vuole riflettere su alcune figurazioni caratteristiche dei corpi contemporanei e sui loro processi e modelli rappresentativi. Il centro d’interesse è legato al ruolo capillare e pervasivo che i dispositivi mediali e le loro estensioni e applicazioni tecnologiche hanno assunto nei confronti dei nostri regimi percettivi, iconografici e identitari.

For a long time, comparisons of cinema and photography have been predominantly a question of contrast, both of their forms and their ways of seeing. This special issue of Cinéma & Cie reverses the perspective, by addressing some of the fundamental spaces of convergence and coexistence between the two languages. While they have alwaysbeen somewhat present in the history of the two arts (not only in chronophotography, but also astronomic photography, photographic series, and still photography), the photocinematic forms have become particularlyrelevant in the archaeology of post-media culture that has characterised much scholarship lately. What tools should we employ to study these confluences today?Is it possible to perceive overlapping images also in strictly cinematic or photographic works? From this perspective, the special issue deals with borderline authors, such as Jeff Wall; post-filmic aesthetics, such as the cinematic tableau vivant and innovative examples of contemporary, experimental audiovisual production.

Al centro di questo lavoro vi è l’obiettivo di analizzare trent’anni di servizio pubblico televisivo in Italia, dalla nascita nel 1952 della televisione monopolista/ monocanale sotto il controllo del governo alla riforma del 1975 con reti e telegiornali titolari del loro distinto palinsesto sotto il controllo del Parlamento fino all’avvio il 15 dicembre 1979 della Terza Rete tv, con il suo modello ideativo e produttivo regionale e nazionale; un passaggio dal singolare al plurale che non è solo un aumento quantitativo dell’offerta televisiva ma è soprattutto un diverso dispiegamento qualitativo del rapporto tra televisione e istituzioni, tra televisione e pubblico, tra televisione e mercato, fino a vederne gli esiti epocali nella prima metà degli anni Ottanta.

Chiavi, slittini, biciclette, il cinema ha avuto da sempre a che fare con le “cose” che molto spesso sono diventate oggetti, strumenti d’azione, ma molte altre volte hanno assunto una dimensione autonoma, poetica, che li ha trasformate in elementi centrali, insieme ai corpi, del paesaggio del film. Questo numero, nuovo per tema e composizione, è dedicato alle “cose” nel cinema con contributi che vanno da Buñuel a Scorsese, da Antonioni a Bergman, per chiudere con Gravity di Cuarón.
