Esta obra explora temas que se alejan de los hitos ya conocidos por muchos sobre la importancia de la Universidad del Rosario en la historia del país, y parte de ámbitos como las artes plásticas, la literatura, el periodismo, la cultura y la educación para dar cuenta de la participación de egresados rosaristas en dichas áreas y, de esta manera, mostrar que la oferta educativa del Rosario está a la vanguardia de la enseñanza, es amplia y permite que sus estudiantes transiten por varios campos profesionales. Se trata, entonces, de las semblanzas de varios personajes de la vida cultural colombiana que estudiaron en el claustro entre los siglos XIX y XX, con el fin de identificar las particularidades de su formación en el Rosario que, con el tiempo, contribuyeron al desarrollo de su trayectoria profesional, a la vez que les permitieron demostrar el compromiso formativo que la Universidad tiene con sus estudiantes.
