A través de esta breve selección de su intensa, atractiva y sugerente actividad de investigación llevada a cabo durante los últimos años, vemos cómo el profesor Roger Chartier ha transformado en fuente de conocimiento histórico los discursos del pasado, que hemos recibido en herencia, evaluando el entramado social y cultural en el que surgieron, así como las modalidades de recepción y uso a las que se vieron sometidos a lo largo del tiempo. Between about 1830 and the outbreak of the First World War, print culture, reading, and writing transformed cultural life in Western Europe in many significant ways. Book production and consumption increased dramatically, and practices such as letter- and diary-writing were widespread. This study demonstrates the importance of the nineteenth century in French cultural change and illustrates the changing priorities and concerns of l'histoire du livre since the 1970s. Ordinacions de la Casa i Cort de Pere el Ceremoniós
L'any 1344 es promulgaven les Ordinacions fetes per lo molt alt senyor en Pere terç, rey d'Aragó, amb les quals es regulava el funcionament de tots els oficials reials. En realitat es tractava de la traducció catalana de les Leges palatinae, que el mateix monarca va revisar i corregir. Al segle XVIII, el manuscrit s'envià des de l'Arxiu Reial de Barcelona a la cort de Madrid, i restà desaparegut fins que fou localitzat, ja al segle XX, en la Universitat de València. Fins ara, les úniques edicions modernes s'havien fet a partir d'una còpia del Set-cents. Afortunadament, l'edició que ara es publica recull íntegre el text de les Ordinacions i el protocol de la coronació utilitzant l'original del segle XIV, amb la identificació de les correccions i esmenes efectuades pel rei i un estudi introductori on es reconstrueix la història completa del manuscrit.

Bible Missals and the Medieval Dominican Liturgy
Bible Missals are manuscripts that integrate liturgical prayers for the Mass with the scriptural texts of the Latin Vulgate. Long overlooked by scholars, Bible Missals offer important evidence for the development of the medieval liturgy and the liturgical use of scripture by medieval Christians. This monograph is the first comprehensive analysis of the codicology and contents of Bible Missals. Mostly produced in the first half of the 13th century by professional book makers in centers like Paris and Oxford, these hybrid manuscripts were customized for secular, monastic, and mendicant patrons. This monograph focuses on Dominican Bible Missals, the largest group within the repertoire, providing detailed codicological descriptions of each manuscript and analyzing their texts for the Order of Mass and selected liturgical formularies, including prayers for the feast of St. Dominic. For medieval Christians, the words and events of scripture were continually called to mind and reenacted in the sacramental rites of the Mass. Bible Missals provide important material evidence for this interplay between word and sacrament.
