Quantum Enigma

Everyone knows that sub-atomic particles have some very strange qualities. Light sometimes behaves like a particle, sometimes like a wave. Objects separated by vast distances interact faster than the speed of light - what Einstein called 'spooky action at a distance'. Most strangely, the behaviour of objects somehow seems be determined in retrospect, depending on what the observer is looking for. In this ground-breaking work the authors show how these quantum properties are being observed in larger and larger objects. They set out carefully and cautiously exactly what quantum theory might mean for us. Quantum physics presents an unanswerable challenge to our common sense understanding of the universe, and the final explanation might not come from physics at all, but from the equally strange world of cognitive neuro-science - the mysteries of mind and matter might be one and the same.

Quantum Enigma

The most successful theory in all of science--and the basis of one third of our economy--says the strangest things about the world and about us. Can you believe that physical reality is created by our observation of it? Physicists were forced to this conclusion, the quantum enigma, by what they observed in their laboratories. Trying to understand the atom, physicists built quantum mechanics and found, to their embarrassment, that their theory intimately connects consciousness with the physical world. Quantum Enigma explores what that implies and why some founders of the theory became the foremost objectors to it. Schr?dinger showed that it "absurdly" allowed a cat to be in a "superposition" ...

Quantum Enigma

Rosenblum and Kuttner physicists set out clearly the historical development of this theory. The quantum enigma offers an entertaining approach to a mystery that haunted physicists for the past eight decades. Quantum theory explains the mechanism governing the behavior of atoms, none of its predictions has proved false and no scientist puts it in question.

Instantaneous quantum entanglements, Einstein’s “spooky actions in the dark,” have been a controversial subject in physics for over 100 years. Human consciousness is an integral part of this phenomenon. Physics cannot ignore entanglement or human consciousness, but has yet to find a way to explain these realities in a cogent manner. Meta-Quanta is a thought-experiment seeking to address these concerns. The enigma of human consciousness within entanglement, together with quantum theory and relativity, when observed from a state absent time, gives agency to imagining a viable reality to the conundrum of instantaneous entanglement as seemingly unbounded by the speed of light. This perspec...

Forgiving the Unforgivable

"The founder of Synchronicity Foundation presents his innovative spiritual teachings and contemporary holistic lifestyle practices. He and members of his group who were victims of the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack during a pilgrimage explain how Master Charles Cannon's concepts empowered them to have forgiveness and compassion for terrorists who murdered their close associate and the man's 13-year-old daughter"--Provided by publisher

Atheism: Trendy, Chic and Scientifically Misguided

NOTE: A revised version of this book has been published as "God and Science: Coming Full Circle?"Atheist scholars contend that science continuously reveals religious beliefs to be "the hideous fantasies of a prior age" (as author Sam Harris put it). However, science may actually be closer to suggesting just the opposite. Modern science suggests that extra dimensions of space and perhaps even whole parallel universes exist, that some things don't have physical form until you look at them, that a particle can be in two places at once because it bounces back and forth in space AND time, and that events on Earth can be influenced instantaneously by events deep in the cosmos. Even Max Planck, the...

Since its emergence in the nineteenth century, the Theosophical Society has wielded enormous influence across diverse fields, none more so than the study of religion. This volume explores this legacy in North America, Europe, and India, demonstrating its impact on the conceptualization of “religion” and its influence on methods of comparison. Unveiling overlooked entanglements, the volume challenges standard narratives in the history of religious studies and interrogates the deliberate neglect of theosophy’s influence in the “secular” academy. In doing so, the work confronts lingering ghosts, urging a reappraisal that enriches the study of religion and offers prescriptions for its future.

Faith Physics

FFaith Physics is a new Theory of Everything (ToE) combining ancient spiritual wisdom and modern quantum physics findings to deliver a belief system that is both intellectually sound and spiritually satisfying. It maintains an ineffable Supreme Consciousness is the catalyst of all material creation as a ‘great thought’ through pure white light in zero-point morphogenetic quantum fields. Faith Physics claims that consciousness is the cornerstone of base reality existing in a timeless state of now. By using the natural cause-and-effect laws of classical physics, the uncertainty principle of quantum mechanics, and dark matter/energy, Faith Physics posits pure consciousness manifests physica...

Liberating Sociology: From Newtonian Toward Quantum Imaginations: Volume 1: Unriddling the Quantum Enigma

In this major new study in the sociology of scientific knowledge, social theorist Mohammad H. Tamdgidi reports having unriddled the so-called ‘quantum enigma.’ This book opens the lid of the Schrödinger’s Cat box of the ‘quantum enigma’ after decades and finds something both odd and familiar: Not only the cat is both alive and dead, it has morphed into an elephant in the room in whose interpretation Einstein, Bohr, Bohm, and others were each both right and wrong because the enigma has acquired both localized and spread-out features whose unriddling requires both physics and sociology amid both transdisciplinary and transcultural contexts. The book offers, in a transdisciplinary an...
