This work presents a personal narrative of the 4th Crusade by French nobleman Geoffrey de Villehardouin, Marshal of Champagne and Roumania, who was one of the prominent participants in those events. His account starts in the late 1100s with the call to Crusade, taking the readers through the Sack of Constantinople and the later poorly fought battles involving other cities in that area.
