Amendments to War Orphans' Educational Assistance Act and Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act
Considers the following bills. H.R. 4306, to authorize educational assistance to children of persons who die as a result of service-connected disabilities incurred after Jan. 1, 1955 and before end of period of compulsory military service. H.R. 7724, to liberalize requirements regarding changes of programs and curriculum in educational programs covered by veterans assistance benefits.
Investment of Insurance Funds
Considers H.R. 9378, to transfer power of investment of National Service Life Insurance funds from Treasury Dept to VA and to allow VA to invest such funds into public debt securities bearing higher interest rates than present investments.
Miscellaneous Insurance Legislation
Considers H.R. 170 and related bills, to amend laws regarding veterans life insurance plan premium payments, beneficiary payments, policy transfers, policy termination notices, policy renewals, and disability eligibility. Also examines VA use of automatic data processing systems.
