Denna antologi bygger på föredrag som hölls vid FINNSAMs vinterkonferens i Oslo 4-6 mars 2022. FINNSAM står för Finnbygder i samverkan och är ett nätverk för alla som är intresserade av skogsfinnarnas kultur och historia. Temat för konferensen var tvådelat: Några tog sig av Carl Axel Gottlund (1796-1875) och hans vandringar på Finnskogen i 1821. Flera artiklar belyser Finnskogen och Norge i början av 1800-tallet och Carl Axel Gottlunds insats for skogsfinnarna. Det andra temat var skogsfinske kulturminnen utanför Finnskogen. Det har de senaste åren arbetats med skogfinska kulturminnen i bland annat Viken fylkeskommune och hos Byantikvaren i Oslo.
