Spanish Verbalisations and the Internal Structure of Lexical Predicates
Spanish Verbalisations and the Internal Structure of Lexical Predicates provides the first comprehensive and empirically detailed theoretical analysis of the different ways in which Spanish builds verbs from nouns and adjectives. This book poses questions about the nature of theme vowels, parasynthesis and the structural relation between the three major lexical word classes from within a Neo-Constructionist framework that highlights the correlations between the syntactic and semantic behaviour of verbs and their morphological make up. Provided within are detailed empirical descriptions of each of the nine major ways of building lexical verbs in Spanish, as well as an integral analysis of those patterns that shows the significance of the contrast between them and their uses to address some foundational questions in morphological theory. Spanish Verbalisations will be of particular interest to researchers in formal linguistics and Spanish. Love poetry in the Spanish Golden Age redefines the lyric poetry that is located at the centre of Imperial Spanish culture's own self-image and self-definition. This work engages with a broader evaluation of early modern poetics that foregrounds the processes rather than the products of thinking. The locus of the study is the Imperial 'home' space, where love poetry meets early modern empire at the inception of a very conflicted national consciousness, and where the vernacular language, Castilian, emerges in the encounter as a strategic site of national and imperial identity. Perspectives on Lexicography in Italy and Europe
Lexicography is a very special field of research, in which theory arises from concrete problems and practice moulds on theoretical assumptions in a way of working that is at the same time technical and innovative. The volume offers an overview of the main aspects of the state of art of lexicographical research in Europe, with contributions concerning both historical and synchronic dictionaries and a wide spectrum of the main European languages (French, English, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish). Several contributions show the beneficial effects deriving from the close connection between modern lexicography and information technology, which in the last few years profoundly changed the way of designing, realising and using dictionaries. An appendix contains some reflections on lexicography and translation, one of the most important functional goals for both monolingual and bilingual dictionaries.

Este volumen reúne los textos de las contribuciones que se presentaron en la Jornada de Estudios «Leer casi lo mismo: la traducción literaria», celebrada en 2013 en el Departamento de Filología Española de la Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona. El objetivo de la jornada fue propiciar el encuentro interdisciplinar entre estudiosos de la lengua y la literatura, traductores, editores y autores con el propósito de meditar sobre las posibilidades y sobre los límites de la traducción literaria y, así, poner de relieve las diferentes estrategias adoptadas por los traductores para conseguir, en palabras de Umberto Eco, ese "Decir casi lo mismo".
