The Earp family in England. John Earp was born about 1600 in Staffordshire. One of his descendants, John Earp, married Rebecca and immigrated to America in 1719. They settled in Virginia. One of their descendants was Walter Earp (b. 1787) who married Martha Early and moved to Kentucky. He was the father of Nicholas P. Earp and Josiah Jackson Earp. Josiah became the father of frontier lawman Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp (1848-1929). Josiah was the ancestor of the author. Descendants live in the United States.
