Representations of Algebras
This volume contains the proceedings of the 17th Workshop and International Conference on Representations of Algebras (ICRA 2016), held from August 10-19, 2016, at Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY. Included are three survey articles based on short courses in the areas of commutative algebraic groups, modular group representation theory, and thick tensor ideals of bounded derived categories. Other articles represent contributions to areas in and related to representation theory, such as noncommutative resolutions, twisted commutative algebras, and upper cluster algebras.
Commutative Algebra: 150 Years with Roger and Sylvia Wiegand
This volume contains the combined Proceedings of the Second International Meeting on Commutative Algebra and Related Areas (SIMCARA) held from July 22–26, 2019, at the Universidade de São Paulo, São Carlos, Brazil, and the AMS Special Session on Commutative Algebra, held from September 14–15, 2019, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin. These two meetings celebrated the combined 150th birthday of Roger and Sylvia Wiegand. The Wiegands have been a fixture in the commutative algebra community, as well as the wider mathematical community, for over 40 years. Articles in this volume cover various areas of factorization theory, homological algebra, ideal theory, representation theory, homological rigidity, maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules, and the behavior of prime spectra under completion, as well as some topics in related fields. The volume itself bears evidence that the area of commutative algebra is a vibrant one and highlights the influence of the Wiegands on generations of researchers. It will be useful to researchers and graduate students.

Cohen-Macaulay Representations
This book is a comprehensive treatment of the representation theory of maximal Cohen-Macaulay (MCM) modules over local rings. This topic is at the intersection of commutative algebra, singularity theory, and representations of groups and algebras. Two introductory chapters treat the Krull-Remak-Schmidt Theorem on uniqueness of direct-sum decompositions and its failure for modules over local rings. Twenty-Four Hours of Local Cohomology
This book is aimed to provide an introduction to local cohomology which takes cognizance of the breadth of its interactions with other areas of mathematics. It covers topics such as the number of defining equations of algebraic sets, connectedness properties of algebraic sets, connections to sheaf cohomology and to de Rham cohomology, Gröbner bases in the commutative setting as well as for $D$-modules, the Frobenius morphism and characteristic $p$ methods, finiteness properties of local cohomology modules, semigroup rings and polyhedral geometry, and hypergeometric systems arising from semigroups. The book begins with basic notions in geometry, sheaf theory, and homological algebra leading to the definition and basic properties of local cohomology. Then it develops the theory in a number of different directions, and draws connections with topology, geometry, combinatorics, and algorithmic aspects of the subject.
Women in Commutative Algebra
This volume features contributions from the Women in Commutative Algebra (WICA) workshop held at the Banff International Research Station (BIRS) from October 20-25, 2019, run by the Pacific Institute of Mathematical Sciences (PIMS). The purpose of this meeting was for groups of mathematicians to work on joint research projects in the mathematical field of Commutative Algebra and continue these projects together long-distance after its close. The chapters include both direct results and surveys, with contributions from research groups and individual authors. The WICA conference was the first of its kind in the large and vibrant area of Commutative Algebra, and this volume is intended to showcase its important results and to encourage further collaboration among marginalized practitioners in the field. It will be of interest to a wide range of researchers, from PhD students to senior experts.
Three Lectures on Commutative Algebra
This book provides careful and detailed introductions to some of the latest advances in three significant areas of rapid development in commutative algebra and its applications. The book is based on courses at the Winter School on Commutative Algebra and Applications held in Barcelona: Tight closure and vector bundles, by H. Brenner; Combinatorics and commutative algebra, by J. Herzog; and Constructive desingularization, by O. Villamayor. The exposition is aimed at graduate students who have some experience with basic commutative algebra or algebraic geometry but may also serve as an introduction to these modern approaches for mathematicians already familiar with commutative algebra. This book is published in cooperation with Real Sociedad Matematica Espanola.
Recent Developments in Representation Theory
This volume contains selected expository lectures delivered at the Maurice Auslander Distinguished Lectures and International Conference, held May 1–6, 2014, at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Woods Hole, MA. Several significant developments of the last decade in representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras are related to combinatorics. Three of the five lectures in this volume deal, respectively, with the Catalan combinatorics, the combinatorics of Gelfand-Zetlin polytopes, and the combinatorics of tilting modules. The remaining papers present history and recent advances in the study of left orders in left Artinian rings and a survey on invariant theory of Artin-Schelter regular algebras.
