Scope of the book is to present a series of manuscripts that provide a good overview of recent developments in carbonate sedimentology. The volume starts with a section describing general principles, a new classification scheme, and an overview of Neogen accumulation rates in carbonate systems. Following is a discussion of the causes of high-amplitude sea-level change during greenhouse mode during the Mesozoic. Next, within the Palaeozoic section, studies link back to the processes described in the Cenozoic section of this volume.
