The Story of Burnt Njáll, also known as Njáls saga, is a thirteenth-century Icelandic saga that describes events between 960 and 1020. It considers blood feuds in the Icelandic Commonwealth. The tale's main characters are the friends Njáll Thorgeirsson, a lawyer and a sage, and Gunnar Hámundarson, a warrior. They were both drawn into a conflict based on the requirements of honor and lasted several decades.
