This book provides a practically oriented overview of internet-based treatments in psychiatry and mental health care, which represent a relatively new research area and offer a novel clinical approach. The principal focus is on internet-based cognitive behavior therapy, as this is currently the best example of evidence-based internet interventions in the field. Applications are described in a wide range of conditions, including, for example, depression, panic disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders and addictions. Alkaloids in edible lupin seeds
The report reviews the toxicity data on inherent natural toxicants in lupin seeds, especially quinolizidin alkaloids. Lupin seeds are increasingly used in the Nordic countries, partially substituting wheat flour in certain foods. An estimation of the risk by consuming foods containing lupin seeds in the Nordic countries and recommendations to better ensure the safe use of these seeds in foods are given.
Intake of caffeine and other methylxanthines during pregnancy and risk for adverse effects in pregnant women and their foetuses
The first part of the report deals with occurrence of methylxanthines in foods, beverages, and medicines, and estimates of caffeine intake. In addition, a short review of the pharmacological and toxicological actions of caffeine is given. Scientists from academic and the paper industry compile as many aspects of testing properties of paper as possible into a broad reference to help people who plan, specify, and evaluate the physical and mechanical testing of paper material take advantage of the many developments in recent years. An initial essay in each volume discusses the independent invention and widespread use of paper in Mesoamerica beginning sometime before AD 660. The two volumes are paged and indexed separately, but do not seem to be topically distinct. The first edition, Handbook of Physical and Mechanical Testing of Paper and Paperboard appeared in 1983; the second contains 30 chapters, a third of which are new and the others substantially revised, updated, and expanded. c.
