Somewhere in the Land of Nowhere stood two rocky mountains with a stream between. Ribett Rabbit, Becky Bird, Hamish Hedgehog and Bouncy Bean lived at the base of one mountain. The Gabbygobbies lived in a cavern at the top. Jolly Ginger Jimbo and friend Gannet ran a store on the other side. The animals enjoyed rides in a hot air balloon. Everyone faced danger from a ferocious storm, and later from hungry locusts who devoured the sweeties grown on Ribett Rabbit’s trees. One day, the balloon was blown onto the other mountain where the Gongoes lived. Father Gongoe tried to catch Ribett Rabbit for his rabbit stew, but was foiled by Baby Gongoe who was not fond of rabbit stew, and had enjoyed Ribett Rabbit’s sweeties instead. The balloon was repaired, and peaceful life was resumed. It is a fun story, with humour in both tale, and stylized illustrations.
