Solomon Brandenburg was born in Germany about 1712 and his three oldest sons eventually immigrated to the United States. Many of his descendants lived in Maryland but others lived in Kentucky and other parts of the United States. Also includes Maryland Brandenburgs not linked to any particular family.

William Henry Brandenburg (ca.1722-1796) emigrated from Germany to Philadelphia in 1752, and settled in Frederick County, Maryland. Descendants lived in Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Iowa, Kansas and elsewhere.
