Ia pernah terlibat aktif sebagai staf khusus Gubernur, sebagai tenaga ahli di DPRK Banda Aceh dan DPRA Aceh, Ketua IKAPI Aceh, dan Ketua Forum Koordinasi Pencegahan Terorisme (FKPT) Aceh.
