Der Konsum von Neuroenhancern zur Überwindung mentaler Leistungsgrenzen steigt an; auch Kinder und Jugendliche sind von dieser Entwicklung betroffen. Ausgehend von diesem Phänomen beleuchtet der vorliegende Band ein in der Praxis sehr relevantes, im akademischen Diskurs jedoch vernachlässigtes Problem: Die Kindererziehung. Im Fokus steht das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen dem elterlichen Erziehungsrecht und den Persönlichkeitsrechten des Kindes. Konkret geht es um die Frage, ob und wie Letztere die Erziehungsbefugnisse begrenzen. Klar ist, dass Eltern die kindliche Persönlichkeit zu respektieren haben. Weitgehend ungeklärt ist, was dies genau bedeutet. Der sowohl an die Wissenschaft wie an die Praxis gerichtete Band legt ein Raster vor, nach dem bei der Entscheidfindung in persönlichkeits- und erziehungsrechtlichen Angelegenheiten vorgegangen werden kann und zeigt auf, welche Aspekte dabei zu berücksichtigen sind. Auf dieser Grundlage wird sodann untersucht, ob es sich bei Cognitive Enhancement um eine zulässige Erziehungsmassnahme handelt.
