Gunzesrieder Geschichten
"Loß be loufe Behringer, ich verschieß ja dine Fenschtr it, gug dovorn dia gscheacket Kueh ischt es allat, gong doch vire und sagrs grad seal!" Im Jahre 1962 verfassten unsere Eltern Helga und Hermann Gehring ein kleines Büchlein mit unterhaltsamen Geschichten und künstlerischen Linolschnitten mit typischen Allgäuer Motiven zum 70. Geburtstag unserer Großmutter. Die "Gunzesrieder Geschichten" fanden 10 Jahre später, als die Großmutter gestorben war, den Weg zurück ins elterliche Bücherregal und fristeten dort, weitgehend unbeachtet, viele Jahre lang ihr staubfängerisches Dasein. Nun, im Jahre 2020, haben wir uns entschlossen, die "Gunzesrieder Geschichten" herauszugeben, denn es wäre schade gewesen, diese Preziosen aus einer vergangenen Zeit dem geneigten Publikum vorzuenthalten. Sicher hätten unser Vater und auch die Großmutter große Freude daran gefunden, das unterhaltsame Büchlein veröffentlicht zu sehen. Martin Gehring, Hrsg.

I think this is my best novel thus far. Of course I think this about every book I complete. No one derives more pleasure from the book than its author. This book mixes history with a fictional story of the inner actions of both Germany's and England's inner circles of leadership. It answers some of the questions of the inner workings of why World War II happened and how it progressed. I have my own ideas about this and have chronicled them in this book. It is the story of a young man, Eric Jansen, sent to England to deliver wetsuits to the British Navy. Off the coast of Iceland his ship is taken by a German U-boat.
