Signal Processing
This book intends to provide highlights of the current research in signal processing area and to offer a snapshot of the recent advances in this field. This work is mainly destined to researchers in the signal processing related areas but it is also accessible to anyone with a scientific background desiring to have an up-to-date overview of this domain. The twenty-five chapters present methodological advances and recent applications of signal processing algorithms in various domains as telecommunications, array processing, biology, cryptography, image and speech processing. The methodologies illustrated in this book, such as sparse signal recovery, are hot topics in the signal processing community at this moment. The editor would like to thank all the authors for their excellent contributions in different areas of signal processing and hopes that this book will be of valuable help to the readers.
Advances in Multimedia Information Processing - PCM 2005
The two volume set LNCS 3767 and LNCS 3768 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th Pacific Rim Conference on Multimedia, PCM 2005, held in Jeju Island, Korea in November 2005. The 181 revised papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 570 submissions. The papers cover a wide range of topics, including all aspects of multimedia, both technical and artistic perspectives and both theoretical and practical issues. Besides papers that focus on traditional topics, such as multimedia communications, audio-visual compressions, multimedia security, image and signal processing techniques, and multimedia data processing, there are also artistic papers which need not to be strictly technical.

The two-volume set LNCS 10269 and 10270 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 20th Scandinavian Conference on Image Analysis, SCIA 2017, held in Tromsø, Norway, in June 2017. Algorithms in Advanced Artificial Intelligence
The most common form of severe dementia, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), is a cumulative neurological disorder because of the degradation and death of nerve cells in the brain tissue, intelligence steadily declines and most of its activities are compromised in AD. Before diving into the level of AD diagnosis, it is essential to highlight the fundamental differences between conventional machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL). This work covers a number of photo-preprocessing approaches that aid in learning because image processing is essential for the diagnosis of AD. The most crucial kind of neural network for computer vision used in medical image processing is called a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The proposed study will consider facial characteristics, including expressions and eye movements using the diffusion model, as part of CNN’s meticulous approach to Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Convolutional neural networks were used in an effort to sense Alzheimer’s disease in its early stages using a big collection of pictures of facial expressions.

Discrete Wavelet Transform is a wavelet (DWT) transform that is widely used in numerical and functional analysis.
