Dulwich Picture Gallery, London
Dulwich Picture Gallery was founded in 1811. It was England's first purpose-built public art gallery, designed by the period's greatest architect, Sir John Soane. Its founders, Noel Desenfans, Francis Bourgeois and Margaret Desenfans, lie to this day in the beautiful Mausoleum at the heart of the Gallery. The collection makes this remarkable and picturesque place one of the glories of Europe - Rembrandt, Rubens, Canaletto, Poussin, Gainsborough, Hogarth, Reni, Guercino, Raphael, Tiepolo, amongst many other famous names, are all represented by masterpieces here. Ian Dejardin, the Gallery's Director, has chosen, out of this extraordinary parade of riches, a selection of the paintings that speak to him particularly. Into the Light
The first major retrospective of the last member to join the Group of Seven, L.L. Fitzgerald Into the Light: The Art of Lionel LeMoine FitzGerald, is a comprehensive and diverse examination of the impact and lasting influence of Lionel LeMoine FitzGerald, the last member of the Group of Seven, joining in 1932, and the only member to live in western Canada. Co-curated by Sarah Milroy, Chief Curator and Ian A.C. Dejardin, Executive Director of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the exhibition will present more than 200 paintings, drawings and prints, in partnership with the Winnipeg Art Gallery. This scholarly publication will examine the artists' practice and inspirations through a selection of the exhibition works and essay contributions by the curators, Winnipeg Art Gallery Chief Curator Andrew Kear, artists Pierre Dorion, Robert Houle and Wanda Koop, writer Robert Enright and prominent Canadian art historians Michael Parke-Taylor and Dr. Oliver A.I. Botar.

David Milne

The Group of Seven and Tom Thomson
This book celebrates the artisitic legacy of eleven artists who broke with tradition and established a new way of painting Canada. Although they called themselves the Group of Seven, the members eventually numbered ten.
