The decades-old textbook version of Earth science is underlain by generations of models based upon assumptions, such as the assumption of whole-planet melting to explain core formation and the assumption of mantle convection to explain ocean floor topography. For forty years, instead of making assumption-based models, J. Marvin Herndon, Ph.D. has been making discoveries about the Earth that are securely anchored to the properties of matter and publishing them in world-class scientific journals: The consequence has been his recognizing that Earth's early formation as a Jupiter-like gas giant makes it possible to derive virtually all of the geological and geodynamic behavior of our planet, inc...
Maverick's Earth and Universe is about the true nature of Earth and Universe, and the way science should work, including a methodology more fundamental than the so-called scientific method.

Nobody should have a monopoly of the truth in this universe. The censorship and suppression of challenging ideas against the tide of mainstream research, the blacklisting of scientists, for instance, is neither the best way to do and filter science, nor to promote progress in the human knowledge. The removal of good and novel ideas from the scientific stage is very detrimental to the pursuit of the truth. There are instances in which a mere unqualified belief can occasionally be converted into a generally accepted scientific theory through the screening action of refereed literature and meetings planned by the scientific organizing committees and through the distribution of funds controlled ...
These pages present a collection of recent papers primarily documenting the nascent science of neutrino geophysics. Most of the papers followed from talks given at 1 Neutrino Sciences 2005: Neutrino Geophysics held at the University of Hawaii in December 2005. Several papers were solicited later in an e?ort to make the collection as comprehensive as possible. Every paper was scrutinized by an external reviewer to assure the quality of scienti?c content. These reviewers are thanked for lending their scienti?c expertise through their many thoughtful comments and suggestions. All authors are commended for providing excellent manuscripts of their important work while maintaining a spirit of coop...
This book investigates Venus and Mercury prospective energy and material resources. It is a collection of topics related to exploration and utilization of these bodies. It presents past and future technologies and solutions to old problems that could become reality in our life time. The book therefore is a great source of condensed information for specialists interested in current and impending Venus and Mercury related activities and a good starting point for space researchers, inventors, technologists and potential investors. Written for researchers, engineers, and businessmen interested in Venus and Mercury exploration and exploitation.
The massive invasion of Japan planned for Nov., 1945 required accurate knowledge of the weather conditions that moved across the Japanese Islands from Siberia. The U.S. Navy MOKO Expedition was sent to Siberia to forecast the weather for the invasion forces. The MOKO Expedition arrived in Siberia on 24 Aug. 1945 and became operational on 15 Oct. 1945. The desperate efforts to set up a major weather station in time for the planned invasion were successful in spite of the exasperating tactics of the Soviets, the incredibly cold weather, and the primitive environment. Yoder served as an meteorologist on the expedition. Here is his story of the U.S. Navy Expedition. Photos and maps.

This book describes how the effects of nature's own nuclear reactors have shaped the Earth, the Solar System, the Universe, and the history of life as we know it. It focuses on observed effects that are poorly explained by our standard theories, identifies certain errors in those theories, and shows how these effects are caused by natural nuclear fission reactors. The theory of Plate Tectonics is wrong, and it is shown that expansion of the Earth causes continental drift. A physically reasonable mechanism is proposed for expansion and observational data are presented to show that this occurs. Evolution is explained as punctuated equilibrium, with mutations caused by abrupt surges of radiatio...
This is the first book to examine the actual impact of physical and social engineering projects in more than fifty countries from a multidisciplinary perspective. The book brings together an international team of nearly two hundred authors from over two dozen different countries and more than a dozen different social, environmental, and engineering sciences. Together they document and illustrate with case studies, maps and photographs the scale and impacts of many megaprojects and the importance of studying these projects in historical, contemporary and postmodern perspectives. This pioneering book will stimulate interest in examining a variety of both social and physical engineering projects at local, regional, and global scales and from disciplinary and trans-disciplinary perspectives.
