Antoine, Erbauer der Pariser Münze, hat ein Carnet de voyage geschrieben (Paris, Bibliothek des Institut de France, Ms. 1913), in dem er alle besichtigten Bauten anführt und auf viele Skulpturen und Gemälde hinweist. Was ein praktizierender Architekt im Jahrhundert der Aufklärung in Italien suchte, lässt sich hier im Einzelnen verfolgen.
