John Loving (1705-1785/6) lived in Nelson County (formerly Amherst and Albermarle Counties), Virginia. He had three children, Keziah, John, Jr., and William. Keziah married William Hansbrough, John married Naomi (Amy) Seay and William married Elizabeth Beverly Hargrove. Descendants scattered throughout the United States.

Alexander Scogin was born about 1750 in Virginia or North Carolina. He married Mary Gresham about 1770 and they were the parents of eight children. They eventually settled in Georgia with descendants now live there, in Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and elsewhere. Material collected on many of his descendants is given in this volume.
