Sequences: Picture Stories for ESL is a reproducible book for beginner ESL students. It includes 60 units. Each unit contains a drawings page. On each drawings page there is a sequence of six drawings, mostly without words or captions. The drawings show the sequence of events that go with a particular activity, such as going grocery shopping or visiting a doctor. Your students, with your input when necessary, identify the items and actions in the drawings. Each drawings page is complimented by a page of vocabulary building exercises.
Contains fifty uncaptioned cartoons and comic strips for use in the ESL conversation class. This book is intended for students in junior high school and above, including adults. The cartoons are mostly humorous, with a punch line. The cartoons vary in length. These cartoons work great with groups with learners at different skill levels. Teacher's Notes are included on how to best exploit the materials with different groups. Nothing in life is better than sharing conversation and a few laughs with friends.
100 Thematic Crossword Puzzles Junior is a reproducible book of, as the title suggests, 100 crossword puzzles. The Junior in the title implies that the book will work with a younger audience, but it also means the puzzles will work with second language learners at a more beginner level. Each unit is based on a theme. Each unit has 10 words to be studied. To begin, an illustration is given for each vocabulary word. There is a space provided for the student to practice writing the words. The students are then given a blank crossword grid. The illustrations are repeated on the page and serve as the clues to the crossword puzzle. Puzzles from 100 Thematic Crossword Puzzles Junior can be used alone or with other thematically linked materials. Includes a complete Answer Key.
This is a reproducible low-level ESL/Literacy reading and discussion text for older high school students and adults. Each unit examines an element of American life not generally found in textbooks, but of great interest to students. Readers will come away from this book with a better understanding of what they hear about every day on television and on radio and what they read in newspapers.
