Nordic Contributions in IS Research
This book contains the refereed proceedings of the Third Scandinavian Conference on Information Systems (SCIS), held in Sigtuna, Sweden, in August 2012. The digitization of modern society’s information and communication structures has fundamentally changed our everyday life, economy, business, and society. How can information systems research as an academic yet pragmatic discipline contribute to designing the interactive society? The Scandinavian IS tradition with its emphasis on engaged scholarship, action research, and socially embedded design has a lot to contribute to this discussion. The 10 papers accepted for presentation at the conference were selected from 33 submissions, and they are grouped into two main themes: the interactive society and design.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Rules, RuleML 2011 - Europe, held in Barcelona, Spain, in July 2011 - collocated with the 22nd International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, IJCAI 2011. It is the first of two RuleML events that take place in 2011. The second RuleML Symposium - RuleML 2011 - America - will be held in Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA, in November 2011. The 18 revised full papers, 8 revised short papers and 3 invited track papers presented together with the abstracts of 2 keynote talks were carefully reviewed and selected from 58 submissions. Modeling and Using Context
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 7th International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Modeling and Using Context, CONTEXT 2011, held in Karlsruhe, Germany in September 2011. The 17 full papers and 7 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 54 submissions. In addition the book contains two keynote speeches and 8 poster papers.
