He participated in the Battle of Guilford Court House and several other skirmishes. He re-enlistod in July 1782, and served as an orderly sergeant in capt.bruce's Company. He was commisioned ensign in the fall of 1782 in the same company, and served five months.(all of this was taken from his military record.)
